Front Sight
The Nation's First Gun Community
This U.S. News Front Sight article is a nice, succinct look at just what Front Sight Firearms Training Institute is. What the article skips over is why it is such a revolutionarily brilliant idea. Front Sight is, as described, a luxury gated community which is aimed (if you'll excuse the pun) toward delivering excellent, world-class firearms training. Golfing communities have sprouted all over America, gated communities surrounding and surrounded by a number of golf courses, why shouldn't communities devoted expressly to safeguarding America and training and empowering Americans be sprouting up as well?
There are those who would call firearms training unnecessary, a waste of time and money and excessive. But – and I expect I may lose a few readers here – couldn't golf be so accused? And what part of golf empowers a learner, or makes a student more responsible, or makes a person more capable of protecting himself, his family and any loved ones? Golf communities are not considered unnecessarily extravagant, Front Sight, therefore, is far from it.
Front Sight's mission is not to create a small, closed-off community where only gun enthusiasts and experts will gather. It is the goal of the founder and director of Front Sight, Dr. Ignatius Piazza, to train and educate as many Americans as is possible on the proper, responsible use and handling of firearms. But don't think that it's all (or AT all) stale, rigid instruction. Front Sight is a thrill, a constant excitement. Whether one is taking a half-day handgun training course, or a four-day advanced tactical shotgun class, Front Sight is a must for any firearms student of any expertise.
Front Sight is a unique idea to most in our gun-frightened nation: but with the top-notch, world-class gun training that Front Sight students leave the institute with, Americans need never fear firearms or their training ever again.
